| Imporant "12" marker Numerals 12 heavily stamped into a worn 1910 Philippine Peso. Although unclear from the photo - the area of the coin at the base of the stamp has been protected from the wear that afflicts the rest of the coin, demonstrating significant circulation after the mark was placed. I conclude that this piece was used as a token or counter for years after it was stamped. The Philippine "host" may be unrelated to the coin's eventual use. The "12" suggests a British associated currency. If you have any information on this piece, please c0ntact me: |
